A graphic with a central focal point (no tubes)

*This tutorial was created with Paint Shop Pro 9
*Do not deselect until instructed to do so
*Settings will remain the same as last used unless otherwise noted
PREPARATION

1. Launch Paint Shop Pro and open the graphic

2. Shift+D to duplicate it

3. Close the original

4. Image>Resize Settings:
No greater than 350 pixels on the largest side
Lock aspect ratio checked
Smart size is selected
Resize all layers checked

5. Adjust>Sharpness>Sharpen (if needed)

6. Shift+D to duplicate it

7. Minimize this copy

Working with the maximized graphic

8. Effects>Image Effects>Seamless Tiling at default



9. Set it as the foreground pattern in the Materials Palette Settings:
Scale: 100
Angle: 0

10. Minimize it and maximize the other copy

11. Activate the Selection Tool (S) Settings:
Selection type: Elipse
Mode: Add (Shift)
Feather: 16
Anti-alias is checked

12. Starting in the center of the image draw out an ellipse not quite touching any of
the edges of the image














13. Selections>Invert

14. Effects>Plug-ins>Simple>4 Way Average

15. Selections>Select None

16. Activate the Magic Wand Tool Settings:
Mode: Add (Shift)
Match mode: RGB Value
Tolerance: 20
Use all layers is not checked
Contiguous is checked
Feather: 0
Anti-alias is checked
Inside is selected

17. Image>Add Borders Settings:
2 pixels
Symmetric is checked
Color is any not in the edges of the graphic

18. Select the border

19. Activate the Flood Fill Tool (F) Settings:
Match mode: None
Use all layers is not checked
Blend mode: Normal
Opacity: 100

20. Left click the selection to flood fill it with the foreground pattern

21. Effects>3_D Effects>Drop Shadow Settings:
Vertical: 0
Horizontal: 0
Opacity: 91
Blur: 5
Color: black
Shadow on new layer is not checked

22. Selections>Select None

23. Activate the Magic Wand Tool

24. Image>Add Borders Settings:
10 pixels
Color in any not in the last border

25. Select the border

26. Activate the Flood Fill Tool (F)

27. Left click the selection to Flood fill it with the foreground pattern

28. Effects>Plug-ins>Simple>4 Way Average

29. Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel Settings:
Bevel number 2
Width 20
Smoothness 2
Depth 2
Ambiance 8
Shininess 18
Angle 315
Intensity 37
Elevation 36
Color white

30. Selections>Select None

31. Activate the Magic Wand Tool

32. Image>Add Borders Settings:
2 pixels
Color is any not in the last border

33. Select the border

34. Activate the Flood Fill Tool (F)

35. Left click the selection to flood fill it with the foreground pattern

36. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow

37. Selections>Select None

38. Layers>Promote Background Layer

39. Image>Canvas Size Settings:
Width: 2,400 pixels or your preference
Height: Original Dimension shown
Lock aspect ratio: unchecked
Placement
Left center arrow is clicked
Put a 5 in the Left: box
All other settings remain untouched

40. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow Settings:
Vertical: 3
Horizontal: 3
Opacity: 60
Blur: 14.85
Shadow on new layer is checked

41. Effects>Image Effects>Seamless Tiling Settings:
Tiling method: Edge
Direction: Vertical
Horizontal offset (%): 50
Vertical offset (%): 50

42. Layer>Merge>Merge Visible

43. Layers>New Raster Layer

44. Layers>Arrange>Send to Bottom

45. Selections>Select All

46. Edit>Paste>Paste Into Selection

47. Selections>Select None

48. Effects>Image Effects Seamless Tiling

49. Adjust Blur>Gaussian Blur at 25

50. Effects>Plug-ins>MuRa's Meister - Perspective Tiling Settings:
The color does not matter








51. Layers>Duplicate

52. Effects>Geometric Effects>Skew Settings:
Skew Direction vertical
Skew Angle -15
Edge Mode Transparent

53. Layers>Duplicate

54. Image>Mirror

55. Close off the top layer in the Layer Palette

56. Right click on one of the other layers and Merge>Merge Visible

57. Effects>Plug-ins>Simple>4 Way Average

58. Layers>New Raster Layer

59. Flood fill with a matching color from your graphic

60. Lower the opacity to your liking

61. Layers>Merge>Merge Visible

62. Effects>Edge Effects>Enhance

63. Effects>Image Effects>Seamless Tiling

64. Open back up the top layer in the layer palette

65. Layers>New Raster Layer

66. Layers>Arrange>Bring to Top

67. Add your credit(s)

68. Layers>Merge>Merge All (Flatten)

69. File>Save As A JPEG and as the letter background
